Jesus is my Covering

- Robert Shackleford

ABOUT THE NEW SINGLE — “Jesus Is My Covering”

Release Date: August 7, 2026 Available On: All digital outlets

Song Bio: As I was sitting on an airplane coming from Sacramento, California—35,000 feet in the sky—I began reflecting on the storms of life I’ve survived. Temptation, sickness, pain, disappointment, and hurt. In that moment, I realized that through every trial, Jesus has been my covering.

I opened my cellphone notebook and the words began to flow effortlessly. I heard the music in my spirit, and I knew this message wasn’t just for me. So many people are hurting, crying, and feeling alone—yet they don’t realize Jesus is covering them, protecting them, and holding them together.

This song was written to encourage the world: Wipe your tears. Stop your crying. You are not alone. Jesus is your covering.

Artist Bio

Robert Shackleford

Born and raised in the legendary city of Detroit—MoTown, Robert J. Shackleford has been singing since the age of three alongside his father and brothers. His dream has always been to travel the world, using his God‑given gift to uplift and inspire.

Life, however, brought heavy storms. Robert endured homelessness for over four years—sleeping in cars, resting on concrete behind gas stations, surviving layoffs, and experiencing divorce after 25 years of marriage. Through these hardships, he wrote powerful, heart‑touching songs that captured real‑life struggles and spiritual resilience.

His breakthrough came when he appeared on the BET Network, competing on the gospel reality show Sunday’s Best. A year later, he released his first solo album, Homeless Praise, which gained national attention and opened doors for his ministry and music career.

Today, Robert J. Shackleford is a best‑selling author of two books, and the creator of the hit single “I Want You to Live.” His voice is known for its unique, soulful, and spiritual tone—carrying both testimony and anointing.

His upcoming single, “Jesus Is My Covering,” continues his mission: to encourage, uplift, and remind the world that God is still protecting His people.
